So what's new?
Updates and Announcements
5/17 - If you live in the Kansas City area keep an eye on the Local section of the
newspaper for a sweet article on DP and our first-in-the-world-ever high definition
Yearbook DVD! Also because of all the press the website is going to be going through
some awesome updates and changes.
One major change is this front page you are reading right now. I'm still experimenting
with the looks so don't be surprised if anything changes.
Basically for each update I'm gonna try to type enough to fill in this space, and there is
going to be a picture to the side so you guys that can't read have something to look at.
So basically as college approaches I am going to take this site under my own wing
(even more so) and turn it into my own personal site blog thingy. As for now, I am
mostly concerned about uploaded my past four years video work of high school.
Thanks to the kind people at Youtube, I no longer have to pay to have my videos
hosted. And with the flash interface, the movies can be watched by all!
So enjoy, and tell your friends!
10/24 - Seven months with out an update. But friends, Romans, countrymen, we're back. Not just back, but back for good.
Back with a new reliable server, new movies, and a new design. Yep, right now things are looking pretty good for the GODP.
So feel free to look around and enjoy the feast put forth before your eyes.
New Movies include: Creepy Stalker Guy teaches Halloween Safety, Conquering Fear, Passion, Through the Static
5/3 - A very small, insignificant update to the website was made today. I was forced to changed
the intro flash right above this because it featured a one second shot of a lady friend of mine
holding a blurry gun. Oh how the world has changed in just a couple of years! Two years ago
people laughed at my movies with guns, and now they are afraid of the "bad press" they might
bring. Ho hum. Oh well. Enjoy the static intro picture!
EDIT; Welp, that static picture is disappearing actually, because I am going to redesign the main
page and all of the other pages.
There will be content galore. So come visit often!
"...a little bit of everything"
5/29 - Summer is here. That means tabula rasa once again. The chalkboard has been
erased and we must start over once again. The kite has been let loose and will now
travel wherever the wind takes it.
You may notice the MEGA UPDATE next to this text. That is there because in the
next couple days, the site is indeed going to be experiencing a MEGA UPDATE. This
MEGA UPDATE includes finished page layouts, sweet new features, and twenty new
movies! It is a very exciting time here in Dork Productions land.
But enough with this website business, let's look at what's going on in my personal life.
I called my work this morning to see if I could get my summer job back. At first they
didn't answer, so I left a message. They never called back. I ended up calling them
again and they put me on hold for three minutes. Then they fed me some lies about
having to check with a "manager" or something for available positions and that they
would call me back.
We will see what happens.
6/19 - I don't have a job yet. But that's fine, and you know why? Because this website is now
going to be my full time job.
As for video, they are almost all done transferring to YouTube. There are maybe five or ten or
twenty left, so keep checking back to see what each new day brings.
Speaking of new days and whatnot, here is an inspirational quote from the movie Cast Away
starring Tom Hanks:
"I couldn't even kill myself the way I wanted to. I had power over *nothing*. And that's when
this feeling came over me like a warm blanket. I knew, somehow, that I had to stay alive.
Somehow. I had to keep breathing. Even though there was no reason to hope. And all my logic
said that I would never see this place again. So that's what I did. I stayed alive. I kept breathing.
And one day my logic was proven all wrong because the tide came in, and gave me a sail. And
now, here I am. I'm back. In Memphis, talking to you. I have ice in my glass... And I've lost her
all over again. I'm so sad that I don't have Kelly. But I'm so grateful that she was with me on
that island. And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the
sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?"
8/06 - Oh hello there! Yes, I have finally in my possession a good top-of-the-line computing
machine. I hope it will aid me in the making of this site and during my college experience.
Yes that's right, after five long years all of Dork Productions is going to college. We will all be
parting ways into the great beyond, not knowing what to expect. Hopefully before we disperse
I can squeeze a couple more movies out of my head and onto this website.
As I go further and further away from home, this site becomes more and more my own rather
than a site by all of us. This probably means it will become more of my own personal "blog" so
to speak. That is if I have time to keep it updated.
So what I'm doing now basically is going through each page of the site and making sure it is up
to date in case there are some freaky people out there that actually take the time to visit each
page.
That is all for now. Stay tuned for sweet updates on my personal life!
8/23 - Well I've been here for two whole days. I'm still getting everything organized and all of
my stuff is strewn about the room. Hopefully my roommates don't mind...anyway...
If you look to the left, you can see my super awesome, super sweet supercomputer set up. It's
got your basic top-of-the-line processor, two external hard drives, 1080i HD monitor, a printer,
wireless keyboard and mouse, Nintendo Wii, and XBox 360. The Pulp Fiction poster on the
right complements everything quite nicely.
Yeah, I feel like I'm hogging all the space. You can see in the picture that the desk in front of
mine has a laptop on it with some Kleenex and that's it. Desktops are very under-appreciated
these days.
So anyway, college is going all right so far. Classes don't start for four days, so I'm not quite
sure what to do until then. Sure there's a whole bunch of orientation programs to do, but those
are boring, and none of the other students show up to them anyway. I could go out and make
some friends I guess. You'd be surprised at how many people came here with their friends. A
lot the kids here come from neighboring cities and counties of Orange. The only real
geographical diversity is found among the film kids. Ohio, Indiana...Overland Park...we're all
over the place.
You can spot a film kid from a mile away. We all have shaggy hair, and some of us have messy
beards and mustaches. And then there are couple that have the thickly-rimmed glasses, or that
wear sunglasses all the time.
Anyway, all I'm going to say right now is that it is interesting starting from scratch.
Highlight of the day: Watching one of the Mexican workers shout "Ice Water! Ice Water!" at
people that walked by the water station. He was wearing one of those bobbly head thingies
that have funny shapes on the end.
Lowlight of the day: Parents left for good. And also my internet stopped working for a while.
8/30 - Summary of classes so far:
Intro to Visual Film: Basically, the teacher is Eric from Entourage He looks
and talks the same exact way. The class is all right, I think it's going to be
(maybe even a little too) easy, we'll see. The teacher didn't show up today
for class though because of an "emergency." I hope he's still alive.
Discrete Math: There are only eight people in this class, and I am the only
freshman. And I think it's going to be a ridiculously easy class as well. My
teacher is from Austria I think, because he talks like Arnold
Schwarzenegger. It's actually really funny. On the first day of class I had to
cover my face a couple times because I would laugh every time he said the
word "integer."
History of Psychology: Holy crap there are only three guys in this class, and
23 girls. And I'm the only freshman. Here here!
Freshman Foundations: This is a class all freshmen are required to take.
Each class is about a different subject...mine is about the search for Utopian
society, so it's going to be awesome basically. On the first day of class we
had to get into groups of three and come up with our own vision of a
Utopian society and present it to the class. So my group went up, and I
made one of the chicks talk because I didn't want to, and basically she said
all of the cliche stuff ("Everyone is happy, there is no violence, etc.). When
she finished talking there was a good five seconds of silence and everyone
was just staring up at us, so then I said "Oh yeah, we also kill all the people
that show signs of weakness." My saying that just made everything more
awkward and I went back to my chair and sat down.
Film Aesthetics: Haven't had this yet, but the word on the street is that I will
be watching Donnie Darko.
I finally had In-N-Out Burger. My second time ever. It was beyond words
really. Really.
My governer can kick Sebelius' ass.
7/2 - I can't even sleep in during the weekend because the film school apparently thinks I'm
computer illiterate and is making me wake up at seven to attend Editing Boot Camps.
I woke up at seven, got over to Dodge by eight, was done in an hour and a half. I edited the hell
out of the footage they gave us. All but two of my classmates were there until eleven thirty...so
basically what I'm trying to say here is that I think it will be an...interesting semester. Though the
boot camp was boring and uneventful, there was a highlight which made my day.
The first highlight: Watching the girl next to me try to put a miniDV tape into a camera for about
five minutes. She put the tape in backwards the first time (to which the camera responded by
beeping angrily), and then she tried putting it in another (wrong) way and it still didn't work. Sure, I
could have helped her out, but I didn't. She fumbled with it for some time, and all the while I was
just staring at her, smiling.
Anyway...Let's get to the juicy part of the update. Here are some animals you might never have
known about if not for me.
Jack's Wild World of Weird Animals!
|
I debated whether this picture would be in bad taste or not.
Oy, mateys! Welcome to the Wild World Of Weird Animals! You are about to see the wildest and
weirdest animals in the world!
Awright mateys, first up we got the NARWHAL!
Now, I had been brought up thinking that narwhals
were known by all. After all, they are so unique and
interesting that I figured most people would have seen a
picture of one before. But aye! I mentioned a narwhal
once in a conversation with my friends and they had no
bloody idea what it was! So here it is.
The Narwhal roams freely in the waters of the arctic by
the North Pole. In fact, if any of you blokes saw the
talkie "Elf" with Will Ferrel, you may remember a
narwhal popping out of the water toward the very
beginning and telling Buddy that he hopes he finds his
dad.
Narwhal
As you can see here, the Narwhal is your basic whale, with only one tiny little difference: It had a giant tooth growing out of its
head. The large tooth is found mostly in male narwhals, and it used to attract the females (the larger the tooth, the more mating
for the male narwhals. Of course, I am a firm believer that size does not matter). Oy, once time I wrestled a narwhal, and I
beat it to a bloody pulp!
The narwhal's tooth is more powerful than Gandalf's staff.

Geoduck
Oy, what is there to say about the geoduck that hasn't been said
before? It basically just a freakish animal that God denies making
because he's embarrassed.
As you can see, the geoduck looks like a rather large banana that got
slammed into a rock. That's basically what it is, except instead of a
banana it's a long protein siphon and instead of a rock it's a clam shell.
Geoducks live underwater and can burrow into the ground to look for
food. They have a life expectancy of around 150 years. Oy matey,
that's bloody old! Their long age can be contributed to the fact that
they have no real natural predators.
The seal of Nunavut, a territory in Canada. Look at how happy the moose and narwhal are.
|
Geoducks mean BIG business in the Asia area. Geoducks are a highly regarded cuisine on the other side of the
world. They have a sweet crunchy texture to them and are considered a rare tasty treat.
Also, the geoduck is the mascot of the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. There motto up there is
"Let it all hang out,." probably in reference to the somewhat...phallic...shape of the animal. lololol
Oy! One time I was swimming down under by Tasmania and caught myself in a heard of these beasts! Ah crikey,
you don't want to know what these animals did to me!
There is something slightly homoerotic about this picture.
|
Blobfish
Crikey! What an ugly little fiend! Wow. Just look at it for a
while. Look at the drool coming out of it's mouth. Look at the
five o'clock shadow on its chin. Man.
The blobfish is arguably the ugliest and most depressed animal on
planet Earth (not including Emos). It pretty much hates all people
and life in general. Because it knows it is so ugly, the blobfish
retreated to the bottom of the ocean and there it remains to this
very day.
It eats anything edible that happens to float past it.
Pangolin
The pangolin, seen here climbing a tree, is a crazy mother****er.
|
Pangolin, oy matey! These animals are happy for know real reason. I mean look at that
pangolin in the picture. All he's doing is hanging on to a tree and he has a huge smile on his
face like it's the best moment in his life.
So basically, pangolins are mix between an armadillo and an anteater. The scales on its
back are made out of keratin, the same substance human fingernails are made out of. The
scales are also razor sharp, and when threatened the pangolin will curl up creating a
RAZOR BALL! A razor ball is the perfect weapon.
A pangolin can also spray people or animals the same way a skunk can. Look out!
Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg is a wild beast that
cannot be tamed.
I think we all saw Boogie Nights.
"I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy."

9/5 - Sorry mom and dad.
Anyway, let's see what's new in the world of Chapman. Some bros and I went out and saw 3:10 to
Yuma at the local cinema. For those of you who do not know, Yuma stars Russell Crowe and
Christian Bale, and is about a rancher who agrees to escort a prisoner to jail for two hundred dollars.
BUT IS IT GOOD? That is indeed the question.
Yuma is good. It's no John Ford or Sergio Leone movie, but it's pretty enjoyable. If you haven't
seen many westerns, I would recommend it. Russell Crowe is a badass, plain and simple.
Anyway, back to college stuff. Right now I am reading The Republic by Mr. Plato. If you ever get a
chance to read it, don't. It's thicker than The Scarlett Letter, and twice as long. It does make you
think sometimes though. Yes indeed.
Christian Bale thinks he's Clint Eastwood, but he's not.

RIGHT NOW... this is all happening

Fierljeppen
Fierljeppen, or canal jumping when
translated to English, is a Dutch sport
that involves using a long pole to jump
over a body of water. It's sort of like
pole vaulting here in America, but
much more dangerous.
A canal jump involves a fast sprint to
the pole, jumping and grabbing onto
it, then climbing to the top of it while
the pole moves forward across the
water. The goal is to land as far
away from the starting point as
possible.
Watch the video on the right to see
Fierljeppen in action. It's pretty crazy
and looks pretty dangerous.
Snape!
Snape is back from the dead to do one thing and one thing only: ride
an airplane. Not even Samuel L. Jackson can stop him this time.
What do you get when you combine Mountain Dew, cherries, Halo
3, and 73 mgs of caffeine? Why, Game Fuel of course! Do yourself
a favor and go out and by twelve cases of this stuff right now. Not
only does it keep you up all night, but it makes you look like a
badass while you're drinking it.
Game Fuel is paving the way to the future. Companies used to put
all-star athletes on their products to get them to sell, but now they
just slap on an all-star video game character and their sales go
through the roof!
Even if this stuff didn't taste good I would buy it because Halo is all
over it. Heck, maybe Game Fuel doesn't even taste good and I'm
actually lying to myself because I don't want to disappoint Master
Chief.
Anyway, my fridge it packed with this stuff. Stay tuned for a
full-fledged DP article on this.
Game Fuel is the nectar of gods.

The Jack Brungardt Song
Did you ever want to know things about me, but were too scared to come up to me and ask?
Well, today is your lucky day, because I finally uploaded the Jack Brungardt Song!
Hopefully this will clear up any rumors about me that were floating around.
It's actually not that spectacular, because I filmed it in about a half hour right before I left to
go to college.
This video was made for my Intro to Visual Storytelling class. Each person in the class was
required to make an introduction video. The videos were supposed to all be shown on the
first day of class, but my professor went to slow and only got through about half of them.
Then my professor got in a car wreck and the next session was cancelled. So this video still
hasn't been seen by anyone...that is until TODAY.
Enjoy. It's all right.
I hope you will think it's all right as well. It would be a good idea to pause the Van Halen
song while watching this.
This is not actually Jack Brungardt

9/16 - Well hello there! How are you guys doing? Well,
that's just great!
Last night I was out until two o'clock helping a friend make his Intro to Film movie. I was acting.
And I was pretty much awesome. I played a hot stud who walks around a pool hall trying to
pick up chicks. I know it sounds amazing, and it located down below if you want to watch it.
Speaking of Youtube, my latest video Wind Blows Through A Cemetery is up and online. You
can watching by click play on the video to the left.
The video is all right...nothing spectacular. It's basically wind just blowing through a cemetery.
The video had to show a location and establish a certain atmosphere and mood. It was not
allowed to have any sound, and it had to be less than a minute. Making it was kind of hard
because I did not know this area at all. I did manage to find a cemetery though. As it turns out
there is a graveyard two minutes away from Chapman.
Not my best work, but you guys should probably watch it anyway. It's very...introspective? That
might be the right word, but I'm not sure.
That picture to the upper right is actually a lie. I have no idea what it means. I need to know by Friday though, because that's the day of my first college test. It shouldn't be
too hard...atleast I don't think so.
So that's what is going on here...I did my laundry for the first time today. It was scary as hell. And I think someone stole my detergent because I can't find it anywhere.
Anyway.....
"The Billiard" video as mentioned somewhere
above. I only acted in this, I didn't direct or write
it.
10/22 - What's going on everybody? I'm sure your lives are going good, and my life is going great. You
know why?
Halo 3 just came out, and I am playing the hell out of it. I'm halfway through the game on Legendary,
looking to beat it in the next couple days. So basically I'm pretty awesome.
So what's new this week? Well, I just finished my third short film for my film class, entitled
"Cleaning the Room." It's to the right, so you can go ahead and click play to watch it.
Don't feel like you need to finish this paragraph, go ahead and hit play NOW!
This film stars Daniel Risk as the Man Who Eats the Sandwich (Jack). It was shot and
edited in one day, so it turned out pretty well considering how much I procrastinated on it.
The sandwich in the movie was left out for a whole day and a half. It was a turkey and
swiss sandwich from Quizno's, but for some odd reason by the time the movie was done
shooting it tasted like a tuna sandwich. Hmmmm.
I think my professor liked it.
Now guys, I mentioned a few updates ago that there would be a great big feature article on Halo Mountain Dew Game Fuel. Well, HERE IT IS!
THE END
10/26 - Don't worry guys, I'm all right. Mostly all right anyway. I think
the California fires are under control, though I haven't really been
watching the news the past three days so I have no idea actually. The
fires could be a block from here for all I know.
My roommate's house almost burned down, which would have sucked
I guess. But it didn't.
Yeah, not much else is happening out here on the West Coast. But
when something extra-exciting happens (besides a hell of a lot of fire) I
will be sure to inform you guys.
Chapman University
Today's update is extra sweet because I have not one, but TWO new movies to show
you guys.
The first movie, The Sugar Rush, is about a man who lets his sugar addiction control his
life.
The assignment was to make a movie with a dream sequence that affects the character
emotionally.
The second movie, aptly titled A Fork in the Eye, is about a man struggling to reach
his dinner fork while being choked to death.
The assignment was to create a movie where the main character was pursuing
something like an object or a goal.
Enjoy it, I think it turned out pretty good.
Also, for those interested (Burke and Joe), the movie Little Window is now online
and available in the movie section.
And now the moment we have all been waiting for...PICTURES OF BEARDS AND MUSTACHES!
